Biography

Yutaka Tomita serves as Director of the Board and Corporate Officer overseeing Business Development & Global Business at Maruho Co., Ltd, a leader in the dermatology field for the manufacture, research, development, and marketing of prescription pharmaceuticals and other healthcare products in Japan. Since 2024, he has also served as Chairman of the Maruho’s wholly-owned subsidiary in China, Maruho Pharmaceutical Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd. He brings over 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry, having successfully led product development, business strategy, and global expansion in Japan and other Asian countries.

With 110 years of history as a pharmaceutical company in Japan, Maruho is currently implementing an aggressive globalization strategy, initially focused primarily on Asia, to identify and fulfill underserved or overlooked medical needs of a wider population of patients.

Mr. Tomita is the architect and driving force behind this global strategy, the “Asia Dermatology Hub Concept,” with the ambition provide innovative dermatological treatments tailored to address region-specific needs across China, South Korea, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia. Mr. Tomita also leads Maruho’s Global Business Development activities in collaboration with strategic partners across North America, Europe and Asia, who are joining Maruho’s mission improve the quality of life for patients in Asia and around the world.
