Humberto C. Antunes

Humberto C. Antunes is an entrepreneur in healthcare and wellness. He has an active involvement in research to address needs in skin health, the issues arising from the ageing demographics, providing advanced health solutions, helping technologies converge and participating in the digital transformation of healthcare.

He led Galderma, a pharmaceutical company, for almost 20 years. Humberto created new distribution channels, acquired new audiences, and led many successful acquisitions, integrations, joint-ventures, license deals and divestitures exceeding $10 billion in aggregate value. Humberto led research teams on both sides of the Atlantic that developed raw materials, new drug substances, medical devices and achieved hundreds of New Drug Applications, patent filings and clinical trials. Under Humberto’s leadership, Galderma went from a pure prescription drug player in the US and France in the late 90s to a global dermatology company with well-balanced businesses in aesthetic medicine, prescription drugs and a thriving skin care consumer segment. He further promoted Galderma’s geographic expansion to over 70 countries.

An active member of the American Academy of Dermatology, he is also an honorary member of the International Society of Dermatology, an active member of the Women’s Dermatologic Society, and he currently serves as a Board member of the American Skin Association, where he also serves a chair of the Education Council. Humberto speaks, lectures, and serves in different functions at several innovation fora, incubators and conferences in skin health. He is a partner at Gore Range Capital since 2017, where he screens, helps finance, and advances innovation in skin health projects.

Humberto’s experience spans the globe, with positions that took him and his family through many countries. He speaks six languages fluently. He graduated in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln and the IMD Lausanne, Switzerland.
