Sheila Farhang, M.D.
Sheila Farhang, M.D. is a board-certified dermatologist. Dr. Farhang is currently completing a dual-accredited fellowship in both Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cosmetic Surgery in the Miami, FL area. She attended the University of Texas for her undergraduate and medical degrees. Dr. Farhang then completed her dermatology residency at the University of South Florida Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery. She enjoys writing as well as contributing to the advancement of dermatology having published several articles and textbook chapters on various topics in the field. She is currently on the editorial board for Cutis and a reviewer for the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology and the International Journal of Dermatology. She is also a frequent contributor/columnist for Next Steps in Dermatology as well as Dermveda. Dr. Farhang is very active on social media as a medical blogger with a 50K following (Sheila_Derm_MD).
As a 2018 AID Scholar she identified the challenges of tattoo removal as a clinical problem in the field of procedural dermatology and is working to understand the longevity of tattoo pigment in the skin and the role of rephagocytosis.
